過去に在籍した重要メンバーが集結した“union”を経て、結局90125メンバーだけが、
イエスに残り、制作したアルバム。トレヴァー・ラビンが中心になって、
制作されただけあって、1曲1曲の完成度が高い。
90125イエス初の組曲も収録され、イエスの看板を汚さぬ配慮も心憎い。

以外に思うかもしれないが、イエスのアルバムの中でも3本の指に入る名盤だったりする。
（個人的に・・・。）

プロモーションに力を入れなかったレコード会社のせいで、
この傑作にあまり注目が向けられませんでした。
全体を通してクリアーな透明感は、
まさにジャケットの純白を象徴するかのごとく、
ピュアでデジタルな音。
そしてコーラス。デジタルとは対極にある人間味。
それがロジャー･ディーンのロゴではなく、
ピーター・マックスの手書きで書かれたYESの文字を意味しているかのよう。
このジャケットセンスも良いです。
ちなみにピーター･マックスは
ビートルズのイエロー･サブマリンで有名ですね。

また、このアルバムは全曲をジョンとトレヴァーの共作で、
イエス史上でも珍しい製作過程となっています。
確執のあった二人だけに、このアルバム制作は特別な意味があったのでしょう。
ヴィクトリー（レコード会社）が、
しっかりとしたプロモートをしていれば、
このコンビはもっと長生きしたかもしれません。
この作品の完成度が高いだけに非常に残念です。

前作『結晶』で、新旧メンバー８人という掟破りの大所帯で、メンバーの多さが祟ってか、散漫な出来となり、その後、メンバーの衝突、レコード会社移籍や契約上の問題等を経て、90125YESの５人編成に戻った94年のアルバム。80年代以降のイエスの立役者トレヴァー・ラビン在籍時最後（今のところ）のアルバム。
結局このアルバムの売上不振でトレヴァーはジョン・アンダーソンに辞めさせられるわけだが、個人的にはかなりいい出来だと思う。オープニングの1The Callingもカッコいいし、5Wallsは傑作だと思うし、15分の大曲7Endless Dreamも素晴しい出来だと思う。ただ、時代はグランジ全盛期。時期が悪かった。

このアルバムの後、トレヴァー･ラビンが脱退（ジョンによる解雇？）して、ジョン、クリス・スクワイア、アラン・ホワイト、スティーヴ・ハウ、そしてリック・ウェイクマンの全盛時のラインナップの再結成を果たすことになるが…。
