前作"MINT JAMS"でシーンの頂点を極めたカシオペアがリトナーバンドとの他流試合に挑んだ作品。
セッションを基本としながらもそこは東西の頂点同士。様々なアイデアで唸らせます。とても9時間で録音した
とは信じられません。

特に「ギャラクティック・ファンク」ではカシオペア対リトナーバンドが文字通り四つに組んで臨場感溢れる対
決で楽しませてくれます。今で言うガチンコですね。

これを境にして、それまでの「カシオペアですっ」といった肩に力が入った姿勢から「カシオペアで~す」と遊
び心を持った余裕のあるバンドに成長していったような気がします。

懐かしすぎる！
”ミッドマンハッタン”は私がカシオペアを好きになったきっかけの曲でした！

全体のバランスが良く、収録されている曲数が６曲だけのアルバムですが、盛り沢山です！

”パヴァーヌ”も泣く！
クラッシックのどのアルバムのバージョンよりも、この”パヴァーヌ”が好きです。

４Ｘ４とMint Jams は、名作中の名作です。
CASIOPEA また再開しないかな・・・

　・・・というタイトルにすると違和感があるかもしれないが、8人のプレーヤーの個性のぶつかり合い、楽器の見本市的な定位などから、そういう印象になる。ＬＰ時代は更にこれに楽器の配置表や野呂一生による楽曲・セッション解説もあり、特に楽器やる人はワクワクして聴けるレコードだと思う。
　目玉はやはり「亡き王女のためのパヴァーヌ」である。8人（いや、7人か）がうまく溶け合った即席とは思えぬ仕上がりである。リトナーもこういう泣きのギターだとまさしく本領発揮だ。
　意外にいいのは「トランスアトランティック」で、まさしく「西海岸！」という曲で面白い。ドン・グルーシンのOB-Xaはあんまり考えがまとまらないまま弾いたのかベタで弾いただけという感じだがそれがいい（笑）
　野呂の「シャンデリア」は実は凄い名曲だと思う。やっぱりハーヴィー・メイスンはいいドラム叩くな~。
