名ブルース・ギタリスト、ジョニー・ウィンターの弟が75年に出したセカンド・ソロ作。ブルース・ロックを基調にしつつ、メロウなAORやソウル味をバランスよく取り入れた好盤である。フリー・ソウル・ナンバー「テル・ミー・イン・ナ・ウィスパー」も収録。

ソロ名義としてはデビュー以来5年ぶりに発表した75年の作品。とはいっても、リック、ダン、チャックに加え兄ジョニーも参加し、ウインター・ファミリーは健在。ドラムのリック・マロッタも含め、息の合った演奏を展開している。もともとポップな感覚には定評のあるエドガーだが、ソロ・アルバムということもあってか、R&B、ゴスペル、ジャズなどの要素をいつも以上に取り入れ、自分の好きなことを思い切り楽しんでいる感じが伝わってくる。引き出しの多さと、才能の豊かさをあらためて示した傑作アルバムだ。 (茅場礼) --- 2002年03月号

世界初のCD化です。あの幻の名盤、「ジャスミン・ナイト・ドリームズ 」。ブルース・ジャズ・ロックンロール・ソウル・プログレロックなど様々なジャンルの融合が見事に仕上がった感じの天才”エドガー・ウィンター様”のアルバムです。決して後悔させないエドガーウィンターのまさにロックを超越したサウンド。名曲の数々を聞いてみてください。R&B、ブルーアイドソウルが好きな方にも是非おすすめです。
