私が大学3年の時、『How crazy are you?』でデビューしたメイヤ。
初めてＣＤショップで彼女の歌声を聞いた時、ＵＳやＵＫポップスにはない、
独特の心地よいリズムと爽快感を感じました。
恋愛を歌った曲にしても、典型的なＵＳポップスに見られるような
陽気さではなく、どこか北欧の初夏のまどろみのようなものを感じさせる

メイヤのヴォイス。日本人にはなじみやすいのかもしれません。
この１枚でそのメイヤの魅力が十分に理解できるはずです。
ただし、評価をあえて『4』としたのは、多少それぞれの曲の傾向が
似かよっていると思ったから。
けど十分に堪能できる一枚だと思います。
また、あまりロックロックしたものが苦手な人にもオススメ！

非常に綺麗な声でメッセージ性の強い曲が多く聴き易かったです。
all 'bout the money, are you ready?などの定番の曲は当然ながら
カバー曲のI'm here saying nothingもMEJAの清楚な感じの声でいてもしっかり響いてきてとてもよかったです。
魅力的な声が特長であるMEJAのBESTは聴いて損はないはず！

最近は、こういう、「キュートなクリスタルボイス」を耳にすることが多くなってきたけれど、MEJAの歌を聴いていると、「でも私はほかの人とは違うのよ！」っていうメッセージが聞こえてくる。
ちょっと短調な曲でも、転調して、明るくなる・・・つらいときでも明るくがんばるっていう、北欧系に特徴的なスピリットもある。

アメリカのポップ・アーティストみたいな華々しさはないけれど、可憐な花を咲かせつづけるMEJAの曲は、ちょっと落ち込んだときにもオススメです。
定番の、all 'bout the money, are you ready?, pop and television, hippies in the 60'sにくわえて、私はインドちっくなSpritsと、ヤイコのカバー曲I'm here saying nothingが好きです。
