若手プログレッシブ・メタルの雄、PAIN OF SALVATIONの４作目。前作「The Perfect Element Part1」で、楽曲、サウンド、アレンジともに、ひとつの頂点を極めた後だけに、どんな作品を提示してくるのか、興味津々だったが、大枠的な部分では前作を踏襲しつつ、細かなアレンジメントなどには、新たな方向性（キーボードの使い方に顕著）を打ち出している。DREAM THEATERほど都会的なセンスはないが、より人間の内面をえぐる叙情性をもとめる向きはぜひ聴いてみてほしい。
