ヒロミと組んで一躍名を知られたザ・茶番ではあるが、その活動歴はインディを含めて7年とかなり長い。そのあたりを振り返って、新しいリスナーにおしえてあげようじゃないか、というベスト盤がコレ。インディ時代の代表曲のリメイク、プラス現在の未発表曲という構成で、タダのベスト盤にはなってないところがミソ。演奏はきわめてまっとうなロックンロール、ブギ、ブルース、ソウルで、ベッタベタの日本人感性丸出しのクサミも、これだけアッケラカンと歌われると逆に個性だ。お笑い系かと思ったらしっかりマジ。 (宮本英夫) --- 2002年03月号
