　赤い部屋で繰り広げられる心理ドラマは観ているときはリアルでも、
観終わった後には、幻想を見ていたかのようです。
　ひじょうにシビアな人間の捉え方ですが、エゴや偽善や虚栄心や孤独を
静かに丁重に綴った傑作だと思います。
　ベルイマンの映画の中でも際立っていると思います。
　映像も大変美しいと思います。

ヨーロッパの映画が好きな方は是非観て下さい。固唾を呑むこと間違い無しです。

　ベルイマンの作品においては、静寂が重要な役割を演じて居る。黒澤明監督の作品において、雨や風が、重要な役割を演じる様に、ベルイマンの作品では静寂が、重要な役割を演じるのである。−−その静寂の中に、或る者は、神の存在を感じるかも知れないし、或る者は神の不在を感じるかも知れない。
　この作品であるが、正直言って、良く分からない部分が有る。だが、そんな事はどうでも良い気がする。分かるとか分からないとか言ふ事ではなく、何かを感じる事が大切な映画なのではないだろうか。特筆すべきは、色彩の美しさで、赤を基調にしたカラー映像が素晴らしい。ベルイマンは、これも黒澤明と並んで、白黒作品で傑作を残した巨匠であったが、黒澤監督が、カラー作品に移行した際、作風が大きく変はったのと対照的に、カラー作品に移行しても、白黒作品での作風を維持し続けた監督であった様に思はれる。そして、もう一度言ふが、ベルイマンの他の作品と同様、この作品に溢れる静けさが忘れられない。−−神の息が聞こえる様な静けさが。
