８０年代キングレコード時の音源で、しかもリマスタリングとなれば、昔からのファンは買わないわけにはいかないでしょう。当時のアルバムはLPですしね！選曲は「これしかない」と言える位、完璧の１５曲です。EARTHSHAKERがスタートした時点から、一気に当時へタイムスリップできますよ。また、ライナーノーツは大爆笑ものです。決してこのアルバムの発売意図が、Hip Hopビートで育った若者に買わすためではないことは確かですが、若者諸君にも是非聞いてもらいたいアルバムです。

「結局HR/HMのフォーマット内にある音楽は
　その箱庭の中で走り回る狭苦しいものだ」
と以前はよく考えていたが
洋邦問わずそのジレンマに陥るバンドは少なくないにしろ
HR/HM云々などという理屈はお構いなしに
「こいつらだからこそ聴きたい」と思わせる、
そんな面白いバンドも沢山いる。
アースシェイカーを聴いて改めてそう思った。

燃え立つ心を更にリフで奮い立たせ駆り立てるなら、
他のHR/HMでも充分代用できる。
しかし、例えば、自分が取り残されているように感じた時、
胃に冷たい異物が乗っかった様な感覚に陥るが、
その異物を熱い焼石の様な物に変え、
ドロドロしたリフと通った声に
身を任せられる様にさせられるのが彼らだ。
でもその熱い音はどうしようもない悲しみに満ちていて、
それに心を許して泣きそうになってしまう。

だからこそ僕は彼らを聴いていたい。

彼らが日本語を乗せてくれて本当に良かった。
僕達が知ってる言語で、
「もっと孤独よ踊れ　もっと鮮やかに」と言ってくれるから。

ふと、我が家にあったホコリまみれの”アフターショック”を聴いてみました。
あったなぁと思いつつベストを買ってみました。

２０年ぶりに聴きましたが良いですね〜、懐かしさの中にも時代を感じさせません。
しばらくはマイブームになりそうです。

当時のガキンチョバンドのドラマーには、完璧にコピーすることは不可能でした。
