本作「サーカスタウン」ではバンドを解散し、失意の中、ソロとしてのキャリアを歩み始めたばかり彼が、限られた予算と時間の中でＮＹとＬＡでの録音を敢行し自信の技量を一流の中で試してみるという、スリリング且つ感動的な読み物となっています。

ＬＡセッションでのベーシストの交代劇でみせる氏の知識とこだわりと幸運。

「ポップスおたく」だった氏の音楽的方向性に決定的な転換を与えることとなる言葉。
などの興味深いストーリーが満載です。

シュガ-ベイブ解散後、初のソロアルバムはアメリカ録音。ニュ-ヨ-ク
サイドは、重厚なアレンジ&録音で、ロスサイドは、土地柄そのものといった感じで明るく抜けるような、アレンジ&録音になっています。今聞いても、いや何度聞いても、これ以上完璧なアレンジ、演奏、録音、そして達郎の曲と

歌唱力が発揮されているアルバムは後にも先にも無いかもしれない!!それほど素晴らしいのです。有名になってからの達郎ファンで、このアルバムを
まだ聞かれたことが無い人は、一言、「このアルバムを聞かずして、達郎を
語ること無かれ」必聴ですよ。

音楽に対する熱量がそこいらへんにいるミュージシャンと
あきらかに違うんですけど。
あまりのあなたの熱さにやられて
おいらまで意味なく燃え上がってしまってるんですけど・・・。
