UKでチャートヒットしていた6曲目を聴いてすぐにCDを買いました。
すごく地味なのに、それぞれの曲の、完成度の高さにびっくりです。
UK-POPは元々よく聴いていたけれど、これはけっこうな衝撃でした。
いつか本国でライヴを観たいと思います。新作アルバムの方も最高！

時は廻る。行き着く先がいつも＋360度のスタート地点というわけではないが、やはり音楽も巡りめぐってムーブメントが作られる。それはほとんどの作り手も聴き手としての時期を通過し、その当時に流行っていた音というものを十分に浴びて育ったわけであるから当然といえば当然だ。そしてここに紹介するUKの新星兄弟バンド、Electric Soft Paradeのナンバーからはすごくブリットポップの匂いが漂ってくる。まだ10年経つか経たないかのサイクルだが、このバンドの中心でもあるTom White(弟)とAlex White(兄)が17歳と19歳ということだから、Blurの3rdアルバム”Parklife”をそれぞれ9歳と11歳で経験したわけことになる。アルバム前半部分に特にブリットポップ的なメロディーが顕著で、どこかBlurを思わせる2曲目”Empty At The End”、3曲目”There's A Silence”などキャッチーナンバーが目白押し。今年はUK新人バンドにいろいろと注目が集まることだろうが、Electric Soft Parade、彼らのことを忘れることなかれ！ <MASTER OF MUSIC>

いやあ、何か別に文句の付けようもないし、逆にいまいち心にひっかかるところもない良質なUKポップであろう。
あと、ブリットポップと比べられることが多い気がするが、個人的にはボーイや、初期のスエードっぽいグラムな雰囲気を感じた。
しかしこいつら２枚目出るのかなあ・・・。
