2002年1月21日で、デビュー20周年を迎える稲垣潤一。2001年夏にリリースしたベスト盤の続編となる本作では、「ドラマティック・レイン」に代表されるポップ・ナンバーをリマスターで提供するほか、98年に発表した「J'S LOVE SONG」のスタジオ・セッション・ヴァージョンと、未発表作品「UP TO YOU」を収録。良質の作品をコンスタントに発表してきたスタンスもさることながら、衰えを感じさせない美声には本当に驚かされる。筒美京平や大瀧詠一、松任谷正隆ら大御所の参加も聴きどころのひとつ。 (島津智子) --- 2002年02月号

レビューの通りである。オリジナルを全て購入され、聴かれた方々にはいいかもしれないが。初心者の方はこのアルバムでJ.Iのベスト盤だと捉えていただきたくない。なぜなら、このアルバムに選曲された作品の中で、この曲を取り上げるのなら、あの曲が先！…差し替えても入れるべきであろう…と思われる作品が多々存在し得るからである。やはり、残念ながらベスト盤には相当せず、コレクションに過ぎない。安易にベストと侮った表記をするレコード会社のセコさが伺える。オリジナルアルバムには廃盤シングルB面などの隠れた名曲がボーナストラックに含まれているので、時間はかかるかもしれないがこれらを地道に収集することをお勧めする。無論、24ビットデジタルリマスタリングである。

おなじみのヒット曲に加え、アルバムの人気曲を収録したドライブにぴったりな一枚。「一ダースの言い訳」しか聞いたこと無い！って方には入門編としてどうぞ。全曲リマスタリングされていて、Ｊ・Ｉの息遣いが聞こえてくるようなクリアなサウンドにはびっくりするはず。「ＵＰ　ＴＯ　ＹＯＵ」のニューヴァージョンも原曲の良さをそのまま生かしパワーアップしていますし、既にオリジナルを持っている方も購入の価値は十分あると思いますよ。お勧めです！
