 『PlayStation（PSone）』は、2001年11月の段階で1900万台以上の国内出荷を記録しているハードで、2000年7月にはデザインが大幅に変更された。その特徴は、￥9,980という価格とコンパクトなボディー、そして対応ソフトの多さで、他の追随を許さないそのラインアップは何にも勝る魅力。良作ソフト、および廉価版が多く発売されている点からも、ユーザーにとってはソフトの選択肢が多く存在するありがたいゲーム機といえる。

 『PSone専用LCDモニター』は『PlayStation（PSone）』に装着するタイプの液晶ディスプレイで、左右のスピーカーを独立して配置。ディスプレイには5インチ高輝度TFT液晶パネルを採用し、最大650カンデラ（cd／m2）以上の高輝度を実現した、高性能なディスプレイだ。『PlayStation（PSone）』からの映像出力はRGBによるもので、高画質な描写でゲームが楽しめるようになっている。また、本体背面には「AV IN端子」がついているので、別売りケーブルを使ってデジタルスチルカメラやビデオカメラなどの映像や音声を出力することもできる。（田村 雅）

5.0 out of 5 stars PSone専用液晶モニタの実力, 2002/6/22
画面が小さいのでRPGはプレイしづらいのかなぁ…なんて思いましたが、やってるうちにそれが当たり前になってしまうので問題なく遊べます。
私はドラクエ4をプレイしていますが、すごく綺麗でとても明るいです。正直、感動しました。
bleem!やCVGSを使えばノートパソコンの液晶モニタでも遊べるのですが、5インチTFT液晶パネルの方がクリアで明るい感じがします。

さらに、AV入力端子を装備しているのでポータブルDVDのモニタとしても使えますし、PS2でもXBOXでもGCでもDCでも何でも繋げて遊べるので、手持ちのゲーム機を液晶モニタに繋げてみてはどうですか。液晶の質がいいのでPSoneだけで使うのはもったいないですよ。

このセットは良いです。
液晶モニターは小さいけれど、明るく綺麗な画像でゲームを快適に楽しむことが出来ます。
コンセントがあれば、どこでもＰＳのゲームを楽しむことが出来ます。
スピーカーもステレオで申し分ありません。
画像も小さいからと言って、ゲームの文字が潰れたりするようなことは無く
良い感じです。

液晶モニターは使わないときは、折りたたむことが出来てコンパクトに持ち運ぶことが出きるのは、さすが純正品です。
だだし、シューティングゲームは、画面が小さすぎるので難しいですが。
アクションやシューティングゲームには向いていないのかもしれません。

私は今まで家庭用ゲーム機というのは家庭内で禁止でした。テレビに繋げてゲームなんかやっちゃうと、雷必至ですので、どうしたものかと悩んでいる時に、液晶モニタつきのPSがあると知って購入しました。ゲーム機初心者の私にも簡単に扱うことが出来、また液晶の画像も美しく、特にアニメーションなどが入ったシュミレーションゲームなどは画面が小さいだけに、荒が目立たなくて逆に美しく見えるのではないでしょうか。場所を選ばずにゲームできるのが最高です。ただ長時間使用するとかなり熱を持ちます。バッテリーなどがついていてコンセントなしでできたらもっといいのになあ…。メモリカードはPSのもので良いようです。ソフトも豊富だし、ゲーム機初心者にもオススメできます。
