二ヶ月連続リリースシングルの第二弾。前作「JESSICA」が疾走感溢れる

ポップなロックだったのに対し、今作は基本的にミディアム・バラードで、哀愁感漂うメロディーに仕上がっている。詩は、その独特の世界観に定評のあるボーカルの京が作詩し、非常に意味深く、かつ繊細な詩世界を創り上げている。この作品のリリース時季（冬）に聞くには、まさにベストマッチではないだろうか。

また、トラック３に収録されている曲はトラック１のリミックスヴァージョンである。昭和時代の歌謡曲を彷彿とさせるそのアレンジは見事と思えると同時に、メンバーの遊び心も存分に感じられる。
総じて、彼らの新たな音楽性を発見できる一枚であり、充分満足できる仕上がりになっている。

Dirの放つミディアム・バラード。

これまでになかったラップを取り入れた新機軸でいて、
しっかりとDirの持つダークトーンに塗られた世界観を残していて、
少し大人っぽい雰囲気の味わい深い一曲に仕上がっています♪

3曲目の「embryo ウテウテブギウギ 哀歌」は、
昭和初期のラジオか、レコードのようなバックミュ-ジックと空気感がかえってハイセンスに感じさせる意欲的リミックスです！

原曲の持つダークな雰囲気にレトロ的なスクラッチを加えることで、
さらにモノクロ化した“哀歌”。

そしてもう一曲のカップリングは原曲の持つ激しさを抑えた「ZOMBOID 零式MIX」。

ダンスミュージックのようなテクニカルなメロディー運びが巧みで、
リミックスアルバム「改 -KAI-」にはなかった「聞き込める」リミックスになっているだけでなく、
アルバム「鬼葬」では「embryo」の歌詞の違うバージョンが収録されているので、
このシングルのシングルたる価値を上げています。

先行シングル「JESSICA」のような派手さはないけれど、
味わい深い楽曲に彩られた本作、Dirファンなら是非♪

前々回の「FILTH」・前回の「JESSICA」と比べ、結構ゆったりした曲です！！
曲形態は後に発売された「DRAIN AWAY」（２００３年１月発売）に近いですね。
メロディーも良い感じで仕上がっていて、尚且つ演奏・ボーカルも文句なしです！！
