プレステ2のシューティング・ゲーム、ナムコの『エースコンバット04』にはまった人なら必須のCDです。ヘッドホンで聞くと良くわかりますが、音楽CDではゲームに比較して音場が非常に豊かになり音質も向上しています。

ゲームではこれらのBGMに無線で割れた英語音声と飛行音、爆音などがかぶってくるわけですが、一度プレイした人であれば、曲を聞くだけでそれらのセリフと状況、画面がありありと蘇ってきます。私が特に好きな曲は"Life Line"、"Operation Bunker Shot"、"Emancipation"くらいかな。

ゲームマシンやモニタがなくても、あの『エースコンバット04』の時空間に飛翔させてくれるCDです。元々ナムコは「ゲーム・ミュージック」というジャンルを創出した会社。その伝統はこのゲームとCDにも十分に受け継がれていると感じました。このCDや後続のAC05やAC0の楽曲は、テレビの報道番組で自然災害や戦争などの映像のBGMとしても使われています。

「すばらしい」の一言です。
音楽を聞いてこんなに感動したのは久しぶりです。
全体的に荘厳な感じのＢＧＭが本当にいい味出しています。
ゲームをやったことある人はもちろん、やってない人にもぜひ聞いてもらいたいですね。（ゲームをやった事のない人はこれを聞いてからやってもいいのでは？）
個人的にはStephanie-Cooke が歌う "Blue Skies"と、"Blockade"が好きです。もちろん他にもいい曲はいっぱいあるので買っても損しない事は保証します。

過去３作の良い意味でゲーム的な曲とはがらりと雰囲気が変わり、全体的に壮大で透明感のある映画的な曲が多い。
恐らくそれぞれのミッション内容に合わせて作曲されたのだろうと思うが、その為に聞いているとそのミッションの風景や台詞が自然と頭に浮かび上って来るほどゲーム内容との一体感が強い。

よく「ゲーム未プレイの人にもおすすめ」と言う表現があるが、逆にこのサントラは一度ゲームをプレイしてから購入した方がより堪能出来るのでは。
「Rex Tremendae」や「Megalith -Agnus Dei-」あたりは未プレイだと３Ｄシューティングゲームの曲とはとても思えないが、プレイした人だとミッションの演出が頭に浮かんで来て、改めて曲の存在感に圧倒されるでしょう。
