ＳＫＯＯＰ時代からのよりすぐりの名曲を集めた最高のバラードアルバムです。昔からのファンの方も、最近ファンになられた方も、S.O.Sの魅力にとりつかれること間違いなしです。この冬、心の底からあったかく、優しい気持ちになれる、そんな作品です。TAKEさんの切ない歌声が胸を打ちますよぉ。絶対お勧めです。

SOSを初めて聴いたのが今作で、その衝撃はSING LIKE TALKING以来のAORの心地よさを覚えました。ケミストリーやゴスペラーズと比べるよりも、シングライクのようなしっかりとした構成・音づくりの綺麗さを感じます。
超名曲1の掴みの後、intoroductionを経て3の曲調が始まったとき、SOSの深いところへ招待された気がしました。ブラコンのコーラスワークが部屋の空気をいっぺんに包み、間接照明のほのかな灯りの中で聴きたくなります。ボーカルのこえが、決してバランスを壊したり前に出すぎる事なく、他の音との調和を保って聴かせるので、部屋の空気にすっと溶けこんでゆく香しい音なのです。

TAKEさんのこえには、少しばかりの哀愁があり、それがメロの良さを引き立てているように思えます。これは男だからこそ感ずるところなんですが、詞の行間に表れる男心の“情けなさ”がその甘さの下に隠れているんです。表現としての、男の影の部分です。SOSの曲がロマンチックなのは、詞も含めて実は彼の、そんな持って生まれた悲哀の要素が下地にあるからだと思っています。

作品としても、きれいな統一感を覚えます。どの曲もSOSらしいトワイライト感に溢れて贅沢な感じですね。勿論作品自体もベスト作という意味で贅沢なのですが、それより、この作品自体をオーディオから流していると、ゴージャスな気持ちになれるんです。黄昏の陽の光のゴールドさがそのまま音になったよう。

どんなアーティストにも、その音楽人生の中に様々な時代があると思う。
このアルバムは彼らが“SKOOP”から“Skoop On Somebody”へと名を変えた後の２枚目のアルバムであるが、
それまでの彼らの作品のなかでは間違いなく最高傑作であり、
Skoop On Somebodyが創り上げてきた一つの時代の結晶であると僕は思う。
このアルバムは墓まで持って行きたい。

Nice’n Slow Jamのリリース後、曲の傾向がそれまでとは違うものになってきたように感じる。
きっと彼らはまた新たな時代に突入したのだろう。本当に魅力的な三人組だと思う。
