ミリオンセラー｢氷の世界｣の影に隠れてしまった感のある本作ですが、これがまったく良い！特にジャズ系が好きな人、金のかかった音楽が好きな人、ジョー・サンプルと聞いただけでピクピクときてしまう人、LA録音と聞いただけで｢ほほう｣と言ってしまう人にはぜひ聞いていただきたい。とにかくアレンジが良い！（もちろん曲も良い！）表題曲は涙なしでは聞けません。この曲のレコーディング中、陽水は泣いてしまってレコーディングを中断したそうです。その他6、7、11、12が私の好みですが、ほかの曲もイイよ~。30年前のものでも良いものは良いということを証明するアルバムですな。

氷の世界の次ではプレッシャーもかなりあったかもしれない。内容的には賛否両論あってもしかたがないだろう。たしかに楽曲に拙さの残るものもある。しかし、それをカバーしてもあまりあるのがバックミュージシャンだ。ギターがレイ・パーカーJr,デビット・Ｔ・ウオーカー、ベースが（！）ウイルトン・フェルダー、キーボードにジョー・サンプルなどなど.......。ギター以外のメンバーだと、はっきりいってクルセイダーズではないか！このアルバムがリリースされる前年にクルセイダーズが一枚目のアルバムを出している。（しかもゲストプレイヤーにデビット・Ｔが。）贅沢なアルバムだ。大音量でじっくり聞き込んでも遜色のない音づくりをしている。ファンキーで重厚なサウンドだ。

　参加ギタリストをよく見たらレイ・パーカー・Ｊｒ．（映画「ゴーストバスターズ」の主題歌作曲者）、ジェシ・エド・デイヴィス（ネイティブアメリカンの伝説的ブルースギタリスト。ジョン・レノンの「STAND BY ME」で味のあるギターソロを披露などしてます）らビッグネームばかりです。陽水の素晴らしい楽曲の魅力を三倍増しにしてますね。
