日本の音楽史上に残る名作「氷の世界」の発表以前にも、井上陽水は傑作を創っていた。個人的に高く評価したいのは「能古島の片想い」という曲。30年たった今でも新鮮な気持で聴くことができる。ポール・バックマスターの影響を受けたと思われる星勝氏のストリングス・アレンジも当時としては斬新なものだった。40代の人には是非もういちど聴いてもらいたい1枚だ。

　陽水のセカンド・アルバムなんですが、青春の切なさを感じるアルバムです。当時としては、典型的なフォーク・ソングだったと思います。
　「東へ西へ」「夏まつり」「紙飛行機」は、当時の陽水の定番でした。「神無月にかこまれて」は、何度もレコードを聴いて、ギター・コピーをしていましたが、陽水の打つビート~叩きつけるギターが本当に心地よい感じでした。
「能古島の片想い」は、福岡のご当地ソングで、静かな人気でした。僕もカラオケでは、今でもこの曲を歌うことがあります。
72年にリリースされていますから、吉田拓郎にやや遅れてはいるものの、フォーク・ソングが絶頂に向かいつつある頃のアルバムです。

陽水のアルバムの中でもっともフォークなアルバムで、弾き語りにもってこいの曲ばかりです。
しかも名曲揃い。
これを聴いて、数年間押入れに眠っていたギターをまたひっぱり出してみませんか？
