このＣＤは８７年春に私が初めて買ったＣＤです。しかもＣＤプレーヤーを買う前に！レインボウが８４年に解散して意気消沈していた時に出たレインボウとしては最後のアナログ版だったんじゃないかと思います。レコードかＣＤか迷いましたがＣＤ買って正解でした・今でも聞けますから。このＣＤを聞いてジョーリンターナー時代しか知らなかった私は迷わずRAINBOW　RisingのＣＤも買いました。入門編としてはうってつけのアルバムでした。ライブあり・未発表スタジオテイクありのいい内容です。お勧めです。

5.0 out of 5 stars ＲＡＩＮＢＯＷのライブ集大成, 2002/6/12
当作品は、ＲＡＩＮＢＯＷのあらゆる時期の楽曲を網羅したライブの集大成アルバムである。当作品の特徴は下記のとおり。

1　以前に発売されていた作品より、このリマスター版では２曲追加されている。ディスク１の47である。特に、名曲4のライブ版を聴けるのが非常に嬉しい（ちなみに、私はその為買いなおした・・・）。47とも正規発売のライブ版は、当作品のみ聴ける。

2　あらゆる時期の楽曲を網羅しているので、正直作品全体としての整合性は皆無である。通常のフルライブ版のような、ライブを観ているような感覚は味わえない。しかし、ある意味この作品のみで、大まかにではあるが、ＲＡＩＮＢＯＷの歴史は網羅できる点では良い。

3　ＲＡＩＮＢＯＷの代表曲を網羅しているので、マニアのみならずビギナーにもお勧めできる（勿論、当作品の選曲にリスナーによって賛否両論があろうかと思うが）。個人的にはそこそこの選曲であるように思う。

4　東京公演のオーケストラとの共演のＤＩＦＦＩＣＵＬＴ　ＴＯ　ＣＵＲＥが収録されているのが興味深い。ちなみに、当作品の演奏はなぜか同日のビデオとギターが異なっている。後でＣＤ用にギターのみを修正したようだ。なんとも寂しい話だが、マニアにとっては２種類聴けるので、ある意味アリかなと思う。

以上が当作品の主要な特徴である。上記のように、マニアならずともビギナーにも是非お勧めできる作品であると断言できる。

僕の中でパープルよりレインボーの方が柔らかく優しい。懐が深いがパープルよりもブルーで渋い。これは面白い現象だと思う。リッチーの根底にあるブルースがもっとも反映されているバンドはレインボーであり、よりクラシカルに見えるが実はブルージーに感じるのだ。
さて、このdiskはヴォーカルによって数曲ずつ分かれているが、どの時代もやはりそれぞれの味があって良い。個人的に好きなのはロニー・ジェイムス・ディオ時代だ。ネオクラシカルかつブルージーがもっとも色濃く出ている。kill yhe kingなどはパープルでもやりそうな雰囲気だが、この曲によってdioが生きている。
レインボーはリッチーがやりたいようにやりたかったバンドなんだと思う。
