イタリアのプログレバンド72年作。ダンテの「神曲・地獄編」を題材とした壮大な組曲。EL&Pなどの影響を感じさせるクラシカルで激しいキーボードロック。オルガン、チェンバロ、生ピアノなど、多彩なキーボード群が次々と繰り出され、積み重ねられ、ドラマティックに盛り上がる。クラシカルで荘厳な曲調だが、その美しさの中に何とも言えない邪悪な臭気が立ち込める。専任ギタリストが脱退したのでギターはほとんど出てこないが、バタバタした激しいドラムや主張の強いベースもなかなかカッコイイし、そして何よりボーカルの美しく深みのあるバリトンが圧倒的な存在感！そのダンディで高貴・崇高な歌声が独特の哀愁をふりまいたり、優美に囁きかけたり、雄々しく威厳に満ちて歌い上げたり…もう、たまらない！たまに出てくるフルートも味があって良い。全体的にはクラシカルだが、ジャジーさも顔を出す。曲展開は多少だれてくる部分もあるが基本的には起伏に富み、特にスリリングに滑り落ちるような展開にはゾクゾクしてしまう。名盤！

内容はキーボードロックでシンセが実に上手く、続いてオルガンやピアノもシンプルながら至って洗練というか計算された配置で出てくる。彼らも他のプログレバンドと同じで演劇肌だと思うが、なかなか熱のこもったvoも良い。加えて哀愁に満ちた美メロをまったく多様していない気高さを大評価したい。全体に後ろ暗い歌詞にあって"人種差別者"は最悪に際立っており、深夜2時以降のスピーカーではラップ現象必至か。ムゼオと並び現代社会を地獄絵的に歌う伊トーコンアルバムの傑作である。
