現在、戸川純の作品はゲルニカ時代のものが未発表音源を含めて復刻され、ヤプーズもリイシュー盤が出たため、比較的たやすく手に入ります。しかしソロ時代の音源は肝心の「玉姫様」含めて入手難です。
本作は１の２や１の６みたいな“代表曲だけどもうアルバムが手に入らない曲”がちゃんと聴ける、良い音盤です。「昭和享年」とかがほとんど入ってるわけで。

他に、１の１３、２の１４以降のように入手難の曲が入っているため、最近戸川の作品を集め始めた人にはうれしいでしょう。私はうれしかった。

しかし難もあり。ゲルニカ、ソロ、ヤプーズの作品が入り乱れて並んでいるため少し聴きづらい。ゲルニカとそれ以外ではモードがかなり異なるので、なるべく固めてほしかった。それが★一つマイナスの理由です。もしも根気があるなら、中古で「ツインズ~スーパー・ベスト・オブ戸川純」という２枚組を探すのもいいと思います。

ゲルニカ、ヤプーズそしてソロと、戸川純のオールタイムベスト。それにしても在籍バンドの名前も凄いが（ゲルニカは歴史的にも政治的にも有名なピカソの絵、ヤプーズはエログロで超問題小説「家畜人ヤプー」からとった）、内容も実にシュールで、アナクロで、アバンギャルドで、パンクしまくっている。正直言ってマニアのための一枚だと思うし、誰もが「凄い」とは言わないでしょうが、この人の才能は過小評価され過ぎだとも思います。彼女の書く歌詞は非常にセンシティブですし、怪しく美しい。残念ながらすべての楽曲がそうだとは言えませんが。玉石混淆というか、和光同塵というのか、猥雑ななかにきらりと美しく輝くものを持っている。くれぐれも言っておきますが、それも誰もがそう感じるわけではなく、聴く人を選ぶ音楽だと思います。初めて聴く人は、清水の舞台から飛び降りたつもりでトライしてください。
