いかにも欧州人らしい端正できめの細かい演奏が身上のヨーロピアン・ジャズ・トリオの新作。今回はジェシ・ヴァン・ルーラー(g)がゲスト参加しているのも話題(「ジャンゴ」「悲しみのアンジー」他全3曲)。ストーンズほか、超有名曲を耳なじみの良い洗練されたジャズに仕上げることくらい、このトリオにとっては朝飯前のことだろうし、今回はそういったポピュラー、スタンダードを中心に組んだいわゆる企画モノの感が強い。でもねえ、これだけのツワモノ揃いだけに、少しばかりもったいない気もするのだ。 (渡辺昌美) --- 2002年01月号

ポップスな曲を爽やかに演奏している。ピアノも耳障りな感じもなくとても気持ちよく聴ける。数曲参加しているJesseVanRullerのギターソロが聴いていて飽きない。アルバム全体的に安心して落ち着いて忙しくもなく自然と聴けるという感じがする。ジャズ特有の聴き難さが無い感じがしたのでジャズを聴き慣れていない人にはお勧め

オランダのピアノトリオに、めきめき売り出し中の、これまたオランダのギタリスト、ジェシー・ヴァン・ルーラーを３曲にフィーチャー。オランダ、あるいは北ヨーロッパというか、作風はラテン風でなく、さわやかな北欧系。ジャンゴ、ゴールデン・イアリング、スカボロウ・フェアなどのポピュラーな曲ばかり。表題曲のアンジーは７０年代ポップスの大ヒット曲だが、このピアノトリオらしくない、ちょっと上品さに欠ける表現。トリオでは４曲目のスカボロウ・フェア、ギター入りの曲では一曲目のジャンゴが聴きもの。北ヨーロッパのジャズメンが演奏するとラテンの名曲 ラ・バンバやベサメ・ムーチョもラテン系の曲らしくない。そこがまた面白い。ゴールデン・イアリングは独自の解釈を試みるが、レイ・ブライアントの名演を意識しすぎ。しかし、よくまとまって一般受けするアルバムの作り方だ。やはり、商売人の木全信プロデューサーの売れ筋ねらいの制作姿勢もちょっと鼻につく。（松本敏之）
