   1987年12月24日。クリスマス・イヴの渋谷公会堂は、殺気だっていた。当時、名実ともに日本No.1のロック・バンドBOφWYの全国ツアー「DR.FEELMAN’S PSYCHOPATHIC HEARTS CLUB BAND TOUR」の最終公演。今でいえば中規模クラスの会場は、当然のことながら超満員。そして、会場の外では、信じたくない噂の真相を確かめるべく集まったファンが暴動寸前の状態だった。「BOφWY解散宣言」。
   映像はおろか音源さえも封印されていたあの夜の出来事が、5台の16ミリフィルムを駆使したライヴ・ドキュメンタリーとして収録されている。「フォークのバンドじゃねぇんだから･･･」と涙をこらえてオーディエンスをあおる氷室京介。現在にいたるまで伝説として語り継がれてきた衝撃の瞬間を収めたこの映像は、14年の時を越えた彼らからのクリスマスプレゼントである。（多田ライコウ）

オフィシャル、海賊含めいくつものアーティストのLIVEのDVDや音源を見聴きしてきたがこれに勝るものはないのではないでしょうか。確かに途中で切れたりギターの音が小さいなどあるがそれ以上に余にもリアルなBOOWYの姿が映し出されていて何度見ても飽きません。
ビデオ素材ではなくフィルムで撮ってあったのは正解でしたね、ドキュメンタリーのような質感がより一層緊迫感を煽ってます。
解散の翌日に中学校の職員室で朝日新聞に掲載されていたBOOWYのコメントを見た時のショックだった気持ちを思い出しながら見ました。１年半ぐらいしかリアルタイムではなかったけどその短い間でもリアルタイムでファンでいれたことは今振り返っても貴重な体験でした。氷室氏が後に「あんないいバンドはもう出てこないでしょう」と語ったがまさにその通りで一生聴いていける数少ないバンドでありこの1224もずっと見続けていけると確信してます。

学生の頃カセットテープで聴きまくったＢＯＯＷＹ。解散してからもう２０年が経ちましたね。
今頃になってこのＤＶＤを手に入れ，食い入るように見ていると，若かりし日の自分が甦ってきました。
氷室からの解散宣言の時には自然と涙が出てきました。最後の曲，Dreamin’は震えながら観ました。
嗚呼ＢＯＯＷＹ。今でも私の心に深く根付いていることに気付かされたＤＶＤでした。

今でもこの日の事を想うと胸が痛くる。なぜかチケットがどうしても取れなくて仕事を終え、ありったけのお金を握り締めて渋公へ。異様な雰囲気で入り口の扉が割れた時､ダフ屋さえ逃げてしまい私は追いかけやっと中に入った。ダフ屋のチケットは一番後ろの方だったけどとにかく熱気でステージが見えなくなるほどだった。あのクリスマスから数週間、一生分の涙を流した。遠くて彼らの表情など見えるはずが無かったけど
今やっと封印が解けた。鳥肌が立った。細胞が熱い。BOOWYがすべてだったあの頃・・ライブであまりにもカッコイイ姿を見せ付けられたから私も負けられない！と夢を追いかけ､実現出来たのは彼らのお陰なのだ。
1224は私のもうひとつの夢だった。本当に奇跡のような映像に感謝！
