２００１年最後を飾るにふさわしいＢＯＸＳＥＴのリリース・・・ファンには本当嬉しいプレゼントです。聴けば聴くほど彼らの素晴らしさが伝わってくる内容です・・・感激で涙が出てきます！！日本のロックバンドの中でもその音楽性・演奏力は唯一無比と言えるほど凄いバンド・・・とにかく森園勝敏のギターが素晴らしいです。森園脱退後加入した佐藤満もいいギタリストで、素晴らしいミュージシャンの集合体バンドでした。とにかくＤＩＳＣ１「ＬＩＶＥ１９７３」ＤＩＳＣ２「ＬＩＶＥ１９７４-１９７５」の７０年代ライブ音源が最高・・・この時代にこれだけのサウンドを作り出していたのですから、本当凄いバンドだったんだなあと再認識しました。ＤＩＳＣ２の７曲目・８曲目はＤＥＥＰＰＵＲＰＬＥのサポーティングアクト時の音源・・・よく存在していたよなあ！！「おまつり」「一触即発」「空とぶ円盤に弟がのったよ」は日本ロックの大きな財産・・・名曲、かっこいい！！因みに今や人気プロデューサーになっている佐久間正英は、このバンドでベースを弾いていたんですよ！！（再結成ではギターも担当）初代ベーシスト中村真一のうねりに、痺れました。一生の宝モノです・・・企画してくれた皆さんに感謝いたします！！

DISC１-2は、73-75年のライブ盤(初演の録音が４つもある)。かなりのマニアでなければ、俳優座の「'73ライブ」があれば要らないかもしれないが。
DISC3は、74-78年のスタジオ音源集。音を重ねる前なので音がとてもリアルに蘇る。これは必聴。演奏が旨すぎるし。
DISC4は、77-89年のスタジオ・ライブ＋ユニオンライブ”マチネ”の別日音源。これも必聴。もうオリジナル・ライブ・アルバムとして独立してるとみてもいいくらいに完成度が高い。埋もれた名盤「ＮＥＯＮ」の真価が分かる。79年の屋根裏ライブはBOOWYかブルーハーツかと思うほど、音が粗い。ものすごくパンクしている。録音状態が悪く音の像がひしゃげまくりだが、とても合っている。ポリスとはまた違う演奏技術をもったパンク・バンドという感じ。
DISC5は、ライブでのカバー曲集。かなりレア。

この５枚組みは、発売当時「’７３ライブ」で外された「泳ぐなネッシー」のライブ音源が初めて蘇って話題になった。マスター・ピースの復活ということで宣伝のキャッチ・フレーズ通り大事件とみていい。
