These guys may be simple, and they aren't a breakthrough in new sound. However, they are super effective with howling sonic guitars and warm dreamy bass melodies, inparticular 'Error #9' has a nice euphoric sound. It's like MDMA for the ears.
You could compare these to Sonic Youth, Godspeed, Mogwai, and 100 other bands, but Mono have their own special distinct sound. I actually prefer these to Mogwai, and for a debut I think they can only get better, and end up with big guns like Godspeed! and Boredoms.
