ザ・スクェアが最も「昇り調子」にあった1984年に発表されたアルバムがこれ。オリジナルでは第9作目に当たります。もっぱら「リゾート・ミュージック」的な扱いを受けていた彼らですが、このアルバムは当時発表されていた彼らの他のアルバムとは明らかに毛色が違います。全8曲中、マイナーで書かれた曲が実に6曲に及んでおり、「さわやかサウンド」のイメージが定着していた彼らだけに、そのことが本アルバムを「異色作」として印象付けているのです。そしてこれが実に佳曲揃いの名盤。基本的にはいつもの「スクェア節」そのままに、まるで冬の夜空を眺めるような透明でリリカルなサウンドが広がります。元気印のメジャー曲(1)(6)と、その他の楽曲とのメリハリも効いており、一枚を通して聴いてみると優れたコンセプト・アルバムであることが分かるはずです。ましてや音質が向上したリマスター盤とあれば、旧来のスクェアファンにはもちろんのこと、インストゥルメンタルで何か一枚ないかとお探しの向きにも是非おすすめしたいアルバムなのです。

T-スクエアというかF1のテーマ以前のザ・スクエアを聞きまくっていた者としてはこのアルバムがBEST。どのアルバムにもあるバラードの中でも「ENRAI遠雷」は名曲です。個人的には5・デスティネーションのエンディングが好きです。ところがなぜかこのアルバムだけCDショップにもレンタル屋にも置いて無い・・・買いです！！

5.0 out of 5 stars ブレイク寸前のちょっと雰囲気の違うアルバム, 2004/10/30
これ以前の彼らのイメージが「夏」、「リゾートミュージック」だったのに対して、このアルバムは「冬の夜空」を意識してつくられてます。
前作のアルバムからマスコミへの露出度がやや多くなり、この次のアルバムでブレイクするのですが、このアルバムはブレイク寸前の、「こんな曲もやってますよ」という今までとはちょっとイメージの違うアルバムになってます。
でもキャッチーなメロディーは相変わらずで、ライブではお馴染みのアルバム収録が待たれていた＃１や、伊東氏のサックスがかっこいい＃２、当時のライブで盛り上がった＃６、個人的に好きな＃７など、いい曲がそろっています。彼らのアルバムの中では地味な存在だけど、期待は裏切りませんよ。
