昔、大阪でのみ異様に輸入盤が売れ全国的に国内盤が発売された
（という宣伝文句だった）AORの名盤
実際のところ、70年代後半のAORと呼ばれる分野が好きな人は
聴いてくださいとしかいいようがないアルバム。
私はその時代、その分野にどっぷり染まった青春時代をおくって
おりましたので、CD化されてすぐ買いましたがなにか？

上記の宣伝文句によって日本盤がでたもう一人のディック・セント・
ニクラウスは来日公演したのに、この人来なかったなあ。

この人の歌声は実は日本中の人が一度は聴いたことがあるはず。
1991年のTVドラマ「もう誰も愛さない」の主題歌「届かぬ想い」を歌ってた「ビリー・ヒューズ」がこの人。
当時、この歌が流れる度に「うぉ〜！」と叫んだ人がどれだけいたでしょうか。
その年の暮れにフジ音楽祭に出てきて、歌ってました。

このアルバムはそれより10年以上前のもの。

「なんとなくクリスタル」とか流行ってたあの時代。
いわゆる「カクテル系」ともカテゴライズされてましたっけ。
丁寧なアレンジと生音のサウンドで構築されたお洒落なアルバム。
80年代が進むにつれシンセでごまかされた薄っぺらで安上がりなサウンドが氾濫するようになり、
才能ある多くのミュージシャンが市場から追い出されていったのが残念でなりません。
