プロデューサーとして活躍するトニー・マンスフィールド率いるＮＥＷＭＵＳＩＫの最後にして大傑作のアルバム。
ジャケットからも窺えるように、ともかく歪んでいる。しかし、恐いほどポップ！
ビートルズの曲をカバーしながら同名のオリジナル曲を並べて配置。かっこよすぎる。

健全な方にはおすすめできないかも知れないが、この不安定さに酔う気持ちよさを是非味わっていただきたい。

前作で楽器よりもパソコンで製作された楽曲が多くなり、そのノウハウが実験的なサウンドに結実している。本作を最高傑作にあげる人は少ないが、僕はアルバム全体の完成度の高さを考えれば本作が最高傑作だと思う。エンディングの水の拍手が印象的な１曲目、強迫神経症のような異様な緊張感が漂う４曲目、ピンクフロイドのマネーのようなレジスター音と歌詞が意味不明な６曲目、狩りで狩られる動物の心理を音で表現したかのような７曲目など、それぞれの曲が個性的で味があり、聞くものを飽きさせない。前作は似たような曲が連続して中だるみを感じさせる部分があったが、本作はそういった課題を解決していると思う。個人的ベストトラックは４曲目の「愛こそすべて」のトニー作曲バージョンで、核戦争寸前の危うい今だからこそ愛が必要と歌われる悲しいメロディーがとても切なく、リリース当時の世界情勢を考えるとととてもリアリティのある楽曲だと思う。その次の曲にビートルズの「愛こそはすべて」を持ってくるところが面白い。この曲のエンディングで「グリーンスリーブス」のメロディーを演奏しているが、ビートルズの「愛こそはすべて」を聞くとグリーンスリーブスのメロディーがさりげなく収録されており、この懲りようがトニーらしいと思う。本作でニューミュージックの活動は終了し、その後トニーはネイキッドアイやAHA、キャプテンセンシブルのプロデュース等で有名になる。

どれほど変態チックなアルバムかと期待して買ってみたら、1stとそんなに変わりませんでした。ちょっとがっかり（？）。普通にポップ。XTCとか好きな方にはオススメ。
