　名曲「ヴィーナス」を初めて聞いたのは、中学生のときだった。それが今になっても忘れられず、このCDを買っちゃうなんて、ある意味すごいんじゃないだろうか。この作品を手に入れ、内本順一さんの解説を読んで、はじめてオランダのバンドだったんだと知った(へえーっ、へえーっ)。スベースシャワーTVのBGMのあの曲もショッキング・ブルーだったんだと知った。「ラヴ・マシーン」という曲名を見て、「モーニング娘。」の例のメガ・ヒット曲のネタは「ヴィーナス」だろうという疑惑に確信を抱いた。
　最初は「ヴィーナス」だけを楽しみにして車で聞き流していたんだが、ハマるんだな、これが。60年代のラヴ&ピース&ドラッグの雰囲気が濃厚に立ちこめ、聞けば聞くほど味が出る。

　ショッキング・ブル!ーの決定版というべき一枚。
