とってもとっても素敵なアルバムです。まるで南国にいて、いすに座って景色をみながらくつろいでいるような・・・。そんな錯覚を感じてしまいます。車できくもよし、家でゆっくりときくもよし、私の最近のお気に入りの一枚です。ポートオブノーツ、オレンジペコーが好きなかたにきいていただきたいです。これから夏に向けて、一足先にトロピカルな気分を味わいたい方へ！！

世界音楽言語といえる様々なエスニックをブレンドしたテイストは、非常にエキゾチックで、オーガニックな心地よさです。音色の素朴さが活きているんですよね。またインスト曲らの中で五つのボーカル曲が、さりげなく路傍に咲いた花のよう。

個人的には4「WELCOME TO THE PARTY」から5「DRIFTWOOD」の流れがすきです。4はコンガのリズムの傍でインドか中東を思わせるくすんだ金属音の楽器が静かに鳴り、そこへトランペットが吹いてきてジャズが混ざる、このかたちが凄くいいんですね。非常にプリミティヴで、ゆるやかなグルーヴ感があり心地よいのです。それが止み今度は5の始まり。畠山美由紀のアンニュイでたおやかな美声がゆっくり流れてきます。ハワイアンのようで、しかし違う土地の風が流れていそうです。ウクレレがかわいく鳴る13「SULIRAM」では、彼女のこえがもっと耽美的で遠い視線になり美しいですよ。

そして注目なのはやはり初の日本語カバー「夜来香（いえらいしゃん）」。さすが畠山氏の音色です。李香蘭（山口淑子）の美声に匹敵するしなやかさと可憐さで、本当にこのひとの日本語は楽曲のこころそのままを映す気品があると思えた音源でした。サウンドも牧歌的でシンプルな仕上げ方が、楽団のセンスの良さを物語るよう。

他にも12「RUSTY SHIP」など品のよい情熱的なラテンナンバーがあり、彼女の熱く内省的な官能が堪能できます。しかしこの曲、一般に言う“情熱的”とは一味違い、Double Famousならではのオーガニックな趣き深さがあるといいましょうか、このグルーヴには本当に街角の影から流れてくるような、音が着実に人に息づいている風景がみえるような、肌触りを覚えるのです。
シンプルさのなかに、みたことない情景なのに確かにどこかにありそうなリアルさを、味わわせてくれる音楽だと感じました。

PVもほんわかしてて、心地よい。
