UAのサウンド・プロデューサーとして有名な朝本浩文が全作曲と編曲を手がけ、作詞には森雪之丞が参加という大変豪華なミニ・アルバム。ふたを開けてみると、さびれた街の風情をリアルに歌う「鳥が飛ぶ街」、ギターと声だけで郷愁たっぷりに奏でられた「くず葉川」の2曲がズバ抜けている、という印象。山本美絵という人は、強くて重い存在感のある美少女であり未知数の魅力もあるのだが、残念なことに現時点では、そのすごさを活かし切れていない感が。彼女の渋い目線とナイーヴな歌声が、今後さらに化けることを期待。 (島津智子) --- 2001年12月号

一枚で充分「アルバム」として聴きごたえのある一枚。
にも関わらず、インパクト不足。
このアルバムでは山本美絵は曲作りをしていない。
平凡で在り来たりなメロディに乗せられた山本美絵の詩は
何処か発散しきれていないモヤモヤを感じさせられる。
メジャーになるには越えなければならない壁、

けれどそれは山本美絵の魅力を殺してしまうことになるだろう。
このＣＤのリリースを最後に、山本美絵は引退する。
彼女が彼女らしく歌い続けられる場所は無いのかと、
非常に残念に思った。

５曲入り1,800円という微妙なボリュームですが，マキシシングルの数倍の存在感を放っています。
かなり自由にやれたようで，山本ワールド独走中！って感じです。
トークは苦手みたいなので，もっとビジュアル面を全面に押し出しても行けると思うんですけどね。これからに期待してます。
