毎日、ラジオにかじりつき、そこから流れ出てくる素晴らしい「洋楽」の数々を書きとめ、エア･チェックして繰り返し聴いていた者です。
この2枚組みのＣＤは、そんな70年代や80年代に青春を送った人達への時を越えた素晴らしい「贈り物」と言えましょう。「永遠のポップス」ともいうべき名曲の数々です。一つ一つの曲の背景にあの頃の思い出がオーバーラップします。

ＣＤタイトルになっているエルトン・ジョン「ユア・ソング」、ライチャス・ブラザーズ「アンチェインド・メロディ」、ダイアナ・ロス＆ライオネル・リッチー「エンドレス・ラヴ」、シャーリーン「愛はかげろうのように」、ビー・ジーズ「若葉のころ」など、 昔同様、その音楽は限りなく美しく、歌詞は優しさに溢れています。

スタン・ゲッツ＆ジョアン・ジルベルトの「イパネマの娘」や、セルジオ・メンデスとブラジル'66の代表作「マシュ・ケ・ナダ」を聴いていますと、1960年代後半のボサ・ノヴァブームを思い出します。今もまたボサ・ノヴァは人気がでてきましたが、その火付け役となったのがこれらの名曲でしたね。

ルイ・アームストロング「この素晴らしき世界」、マイケル・ジャクソン「ベンのテーマ」等、あの時代でも懐かしさを感じさせた曲がそのまま、目の前に帰ってきました。勿論、それらの曲がＣＭソングとしてやテレビドラマの挿入歌として、今でも流れていますので、若い人達も良くご存知のようですね。

アバ、ジャクソン5、トム・ジョーンズ、マーヴィン・ゲイ、ダイアナ・ロス＆シュープリームス、ママス＆パパスなどの歌声を聴いていますと、その曲にまつわる思い出を一つ一つ書いても書ききれないくらいです。

オールディーズの名曲の数々が40曲も収録されていますし、値段も3060円とお買い得ですね。当時を知らない若い世代の方も是非聴いてください。どれも、きっと感動すると思います。

一度は耳にした曲ばかりで、「あっ、この曲知ってる！」の連続だった。CMでお馴染みの「Your Song」「I'm not in love」から、当時時代を一世風靡したと言われる名曲まで、ズラリと揃っていて、まさに贅沢としかいいようがない。
一番びっくりしたのは、スウィング・アウト・シスターの「あなたにいてほしい」。ドラマの主題歌となった曲で、聴くと初めて聴いた時の切なさがどっと押し寄せて来た。懐かしさに浸りたい方にも、洋楽初心者の方にも、「とにかくいい音楽が聴きたい！」という方にも満足できる、そんな１枚。

個人的にはこういうオムニバスアルバムは好きではないのだけど、
この選曲には逆らえない。
70，80年代の楽曲が中心だが、それ以外にも
ギターポップのアンセム"ゼア･シー･ゴーズ"、ボサノヴァの代名詞的"イパネマの娘"などの
意外な選曲もいい感じ。
40曲、素晴らしい楽曲ばかり揃えて3000円。
持っといて損は絶対ありません。

ここから新しい音楽に興味を広げていくことも出来る素晴らしいコンピレーション。
