ブライアン・デ・パルマ監督の '74 の同名映画のサントラ。ダウンタウン物語同様、語り部分やインスト曲は無く、単体のアルバムとしても楽しめます。

本人のボーカルは [5][9][10] のみで、他の曲は出演者が歌っています。レイ・ケネディ（声のみの出演）以外は無名の人ですが、ヒロイン、シェシカハーパーの「のらりくらり」ボーカルが味があって気に入ってます。

曲は、甘いポップな曲から、切ない曲までバラエティに富んでいます。ユルいビーチボーイズの [3] や、変なバーバラストライサンドの [8]、オールディズ風の [1] など、パロディやラリった曲も多く、全体的になにかヒネた感じというか、どことなく湿っぽさがあります。特に [9] のイントロの物悲しさが良いですね。

紙ジャケ盤はリマスタリングがされており、旧盤 POCM-1912 と比べると全体の音圧が上がっていますが、特に低音が大きくなっており、かつ、ベースの定位などもクリアになっています。

ポール・ウィリアムスは初期のアルバムに人気がありますが、私はダウンタウン物語 (Bugsy Malone) と、このアルバムが気に入ってます。ダウンタウン物語（のアルバム）が好きな人にもどうぞ。

ポールウィリアムスの佳曲が目白押しです。映画の感動が蘇るような錯覚すら覚えます。
