   1998年『ペーパー・ドライヴァーズ・ミュージック』でメジャーデビューした、堀込高樹、泰行2人の兄弟ユニット、キリンジ。デビュー直後はどこかしら内向きな印象のあった彼らも、2000年のサードアルバム『3』あたりから外向きのベクトルが強く感じられるようになり、この4枚目のアルバム『Fine』では、アーティストとしてのスケール感がぐっと表に出てきたよう。

個人的に一番最初にリアルタイムで買った作品なので思い入れが深い。
前作までの堀込兄ちゃんのシュールでブラックユーモアな世界は影を潜め、
弟主体のポップでドライヴ感が心地よい歌が主流となる。
パーカッションとエレピの音のままにポップな1、
スティーリー・ダン的な進行が原曲を食いまくった
キリンジ風和風ジャズロックに展開される8など、
シングルカット向きの名曲が多いが、
中でも野球好きのこころをくすぐった5はカッコよさとユーモア感覚が
抜群の一曲。並み居る強打者をバッタバッタと切って取るかっこよさ。
プロ野球の左利きの風来坊さん、自分の登場テーマに
どうですか！？
旧来のファンからは賛否両論は出たが、キリンジらしい質の高さは
保証付きだし、良い意味で車なんかでも聞き流せる軽快な
親しみやすさが出た良作。買って損はしないと思うよ。
キリンジは良い意味でファン間の好きなアルバムが割れているしね。

千年紀末のあの名盤『3』から丸1年。待望の21世紀型キリンジ。
皆さんが書いている通り、aikoのコーラスはまさにハマリ役。彼女の曲を自発的に聴いたことはないが、すばらしい。
コーラスがこれだけすばらしいのはZOOの『チューチュートレイン』中西圭三以来だよね。
全体的に彼らならではの毒気が少なく、きれいな雰囲気。あ、それで「お上品な」＝『Fine』なのか。
【ノット・ダークサイド・オブ・キリンジ】もしくは【サニーサイド・オブ・キリンジ】。
曲の流れはいつものキリンジらしさで裏切らない。
若干物足りないのはやはり【暗黒面】の少なさか。
キリンジってこんなにイイ人たちだったっけ？？。もの足りな~い。
で、星四つでっす。キリンジでなければ星五つでしょう。
お兄ちゃんのヴォーカルが光る７.「切り花」は哀しく、美しい。

練りに練られた歌詞、ちょっと斜に構えたスタイルで完成度が
高かった前作「３」の印象が強かったのですが、

今回は聴いていて非常に心に染みる味わいのある名曲ぞろい。

大人の野球魂をくすぐる「ポップコーン」で気分が高揚し、
「太陽とヴィーナス」でこんな風に思ってくれる恋人がいたら、と夢見させ、
そして名曲「drifter」で泣かせます。シメに「music！」でまた前を向かせてくれる、大人向け名曲粒ぞろいのアルバムです。

特に「drifter」は名曲。自分の中では「愛の告白」というとこの曲です。
