懐かしい。。。こんなのがあったとは。即買いしました。２０年前、プロ野球は本当に輝いていました。これから続く「黄金時代」のとば口に立っていた「新興」ティームの西武が人気・実力絶頂にあった巨人に挑む。わたしは当時中学生でしたが、以降これほど盛り上がった日本シリーズを知りません。当時、シリーズは全戦デーゲーム。よってウィークデイのゲームは学校があって観られないはずなんですが、担任教師のイキなはからいで理科室のＴＶで観てた記憶があります。同じようにサボって観てた方多いのでは？信じられない逆転の連続、そして観戦者の８割がたをしめていたであろう巨人ファンはあ~あやっぱり江川は大事なところでアテにならないな、という結末だったのはご承知の通りですが、関係者・解説者後日談では細かな（記録に残らない）エラー、作戦ミスなど「アレは世紀の凡戦だった」というのが専らの「総括」。

このＤＶＤ、当然「ハイライト」編集なので「世紀の凡戦」の意味するところがひとわかりとは行きませんが、「おおアノ場面はこうすればああすれば」とかのトークねたさがしには十分な内容。当時の興奮が蘇ります。とにかく野球ファンは観ておきたい一本。

　ちょうど私が1歳の時に行われた日本シリーズ。故 藤田監督以下、王助監督、故 牧野ヘッドコーチのトロイカ体制のジャイアンツVS広岡監督、森コーチ以のライオンズ。
　後にパリーグ5連覇の黄金時代を迎える西武ライオンズが、その基礎を築くきっかけになったシリーズではないでしょうか。
　特に第6戦9回表に中畑選手の右中間3塁打で逆転すれば、その裏鈴木選手の3塁強襲内野安打で同点のシーンは鳥肌がたつほど興奮します。
