   登場する車はすべて実在するものを扱い、コースも車幅から起伏に至るまでとことんリアルさを追求。操作感覚も「より本物らしく」を目指し、FF、FR、4WDの違いで感覚を変えていたり、グリップ感やサスペンションなどの繊細な挙動も限りなく実在のものの再現をしている。その完成度の高さが受け入れられ、大ヒットした作品で、同ジャンルを代表する作品となり続編も何作も発売された。車好きには堪えられない作品。
   もともとは1997年12月23日に発売され、その後PlayStaiton the Bestとして再リリース。再度価格が下げられ、今回1800円という値段で発売されている。（田村 雅）

先日中古で購入しました。
これは爽快感を追求したレースゲームではないですね。
とことんリアリティを追求していています。
現実世界で車を愛している人ほど楽しめるゲームだと思いました。

非現実的な爽快感を求めるなら、ナムコのＲ４あたりがいいと思います。
ＢＧＭもカッコいいし。
車を題材にしてはいますが、ジャンルが全然違うんですよね。

久し振りにこのゲームをやりましたが、改めてすばらしいゲームだったの実感しました。パーツを買って自分の車を強くしていく楽しみは数年経った今でも味わうことができました。

４プロローグが発売された今、このゲームをやるという人、買おうとしている人は少ないと思いますが、原点に帰ってプレイしてみるのも一興かもしれません。

PS2でも人気のGTシリーズ第一作目がこのゲームです。
実在する車に乗れて、他のレースゲームより遥かに実写に近い映像。
車の動きも本物に近かったゲーム。
