吉永小百合が紫式部を演じる映画『千年の恋~光源氏物語』のオリジナル・サウンド・トラック盤。先頃「源氏物語幻想交響絵巻」をロンドン・フィルと録音した冨田勲が作曲を担当している。


内容 (「CDジャーナル・レビュー」より)

吉永小百合が紫式部、天海祐希が光源氏、そして水橋貴己が紫の上を演じて話題の映画『千年の恋』がこの12月15日に公開となったが、それに先駆けてオリジナル・サウンドトラックが早くも発売された。音楽は、クラシック系サウンドによる劇伴の巨匠・冨田勲。雅楽などを織り込みながら、得意のシンセサイザーをバンバン使って、こなれた十八番の宇宙的な広がりを持ったサウンドに仕上げている。映画を観ていないので、それが画面にふさわしいのかどうかはわからないが、冨田ワールドは健在。前記三人による歌(朗詠)は、映画の中だけにしてサントラ盤に収録しないほうが良かったかも(悪いけど、ちょっと浮いてます)。冨田センセはシンセ大好き作曲家だが、アコースティックのオーケストラを扱うのもとてもうまい人。余談だが、作曲家の吉松隆氏が「冨田さんのオケは鳴るんだよな」とおっしゃっていたが、その通り。 (堀江昭朗) --- 2002年01月号

幻想的な音楽で日本国を上げての式典にふさわしい壮重な曲がてんこもりなサウンドトラックです。買っても損はしません。
