スウェーデンのT(I)NCの3作目。広義にはガレージバンドとして括れそうだけど、ソウルフルでモッズでパンキッシュでハードコアの影響もあり、シンセなんかの飛び道具まで飛び出す音の深さ、構成の妙はこの手のバンドの中では頭いくつも抜きん出ている。というより完全なオリジナリティを持っていると言った方が正しいかもしれない。

「革命」についての表記のあるジャケや極めて政治的メッセージの強い歌詞群に加え、同一フレーズをリフレインしながらリスナーの暴力衝動を掻き立てるサウンドは、TOKYO SEX DESTRUCTIONなんかと同じく、MC５スタイルのガレージパンクと言えそうだが、ディストーションギターとシャウト一発で最後までゴリ押ししてしまうサウンド（これはこれで良いと思うけど）ではなく、各曲においても1つの曲中においても、様々な表情を持たせたサウンドが飛び出してくる。

激しさの中に相当な渋さが同居したベースラインとドラムが織り成すスリリングなメロディに耳を引き付けられ、瞬間沸騰するボーカルがむちゃくちゃカッコ良いTr.1、2、オルガンサウンドが生み出すグルーヴィーな空間に、クリアーなギターが叙情的なフレーズを挿入し、疾走感抜群の展開を見せるTr.8"Capitalism Stole My Virginity"、そしてそこから一転してダークサイケデリックなベースとギターのハウリング音へと雪崩れ込み、作品中で最も混沌とした空気を撒き散らしている"Last Century Promise"へと続く展開など、とにかく曲の展開・構成のレベルが高い。Vo.デニスのシャウトは鳥肌もののカッコ良さだし、とにかく曲のメロディアスさ、音の凝り具合にノックアウトされたアルバム。

最近はスウェーデンのロックシーンが熱い。ということで、ＨＩＶＥＳがらみで噂を聞くこのバンドを聴いてみました。

バーニングハートだからパンクだと決めつけて聴くと、おやっ？と思いました。デストーション・ギターかき鳴らし系の音ではない。サックスがからんだり、キーボードがメロディを奏でたりする。ボーカルもパンク声なのだがシャウトしている。普通にやればただのロックだと思う。
ただ、やたらテンションが高いのだ。何が彼らをして暴走させるのだろうか。

まあ、聴く方としては、ビートに身をまかせていればいいんだけどね。４６分があっというまに感じられる刺激的な一枚です。

是非日本盤で買って聴いてもらいたいなぁ。特にこのバンドは革命的なバンドであって、歌詞が肝。
アルバム名もホント良いし。refusedの頃のような絶叫もあったりで良い。
