合唱音楽の世界で高い人気と評価を得ている作曲家、木下牧子の作品展。2001年3月31日に東京の紀尾井ホールで行なわれた作品展、木下牧子“合唱の世界”のライヴ録音だ。冒頭に収録されている「虚無の未来へ」をはじめ新作が2作品に「邪宗門秘曲」のオーケストラ伴奏版の初演など、きわめて意欲的なプログラム。日本語のきれいな響きと大切にし、その彩りの変化を丹念につなぎ合わせていくことで、情感の移ろいを描き出す作品たち。声の響きあいを聴くことの愉しさ、哀しさ、温かさ……。合唱団も精一杯歌っている。 (長谷川教通) --- 2001年12月号

鴎のオケ版の編曲は素晴らしく、他の曲も充実した演奏。
ただ邪宗門秘曲だけは起伏の少ない演奏になってしまったのが残念。

木下牧子ファンなら必聴。そうでなくても合唱ファンならオススメできます。木下牧子の新しい魅力がつまっているCDです。もともと合唱ではなくオーケストラ曲が専門だったという木下牧子。このCDはオーケストラ伴奏の合唱曲が収録されています。演奏の方も素晴らしい。澄んだ声でしっかりと日本語を歌い上げています。
