　非常によくできた2Dのアクション＋RPG。
　難度の高いことでおなじみの「ドラキュラ」だが、「月下の…」はレベル制、武器・防具の装備、使い魔といった要素のおかげで、アクションが苦手でも問題はない。
（逆に難しさを求める人なら隠し？キャラでのプレイに満足できるはず。上記の要素がなく、ほぼ別のアクションゲームと化す）

　アイテムや変身能力を入手・駆使することで、それまで行けなかった場所へ到達する…この喜びが分かる人であればこのゲームを楽しめるはず。
　量的にも満足。極めたいと思うのなら、大量の武器・アイテム類の収集、マップの穴埋め、といった楽しみ方もできそう。

　主要キャラの動きに限らず、敵や背景の書き込み・動きが細かいのも見ていて楽しい。

どうでも良いかも知れないが、それぞれの敵の「死に様」が凝っており、個人的にはこの点も非常に気に入っている。

いままでの悪魔城は、時計塔ステージなどで投げ出すほどの難易度だったけど、これはサクサクいけます。
なんといっても落下死が無い！かならずどっかに足場があります。ジャンプが辛くてもコウモリになって飛べばいいこと。
レベルが上がったり、アイテム装備で強い敵にも勝てるようになります。

ドラキュラも毎回いい城作ってくれます。ゴシックホラー万歳。ムダに残酷でなく、優雅で豪奢な城の中に潜む死の匂い。吸血鬼の城としては文句の出ない出来。
音楽も美しく、雰囲気をますます盛り上げてくれます。
不満点が全く見つからない作品。

今までの悪魔城は鞭の一種類でクリアしていくという感じでしたが、武器もとっても多いし必殺技もあります。買ったときはかなりはまりました。なにせテンポもいいんです。それにもう一つ感動したのは背景が非常にきれいです。ステンドグラスなど職人技です。敵のグラフィックもいやなかなかきれいです。敵が数種類の攻撃技を持っていたり死ぬときに声を出したりして雑魚敵の存在感もなかなかです。制作者の丁寧さが感じられます。まさに２Ｄゲーム！ポリゴンにはない良さですよ！最近のゲームは３Ｄの似たようなのばっかで２Ｄのきれいな良作もプレイしてみてえＹＯ！などと思ってる人にはぜひおすすめです。音楽やきれいな書き込みのグラフィックに関心するはずです。あと今までの悪魔城は嫌いだ！なんていう人にもお勧めです。友達はこのゲームで初めてゲームというものをクリアしました（今までのゲームがつまらなかったのでしょう）圧倒的なボリュームをぜひ！旧作なので価格もお手ごろですよ☆
