   JR東日本の山手線外回りを、ダイヤどおりに運行させるトレインシミュレーター。実際に特別列車を走らせて映像を撮影したり、構内アナウンス音声や発車のベル、駅ホームのけん騒まですべて本物を収録するという、徹底したリアル志向で作られている作品。

   プレイヤーは、実際のダイヤに沿って運転を行う「通常業務」、山手線を運転するための基礎を学ぶ「教習所」、運転技術を評価する「運転試験」の3つのモードで遊ぶことが可能だ。もちろん、山手線205系の車両紹介やCGによる運転台の解説、全29駅のスペック情報、発車ベルの再生などデータ面も充実。鉄道ファンをもうならせる仕上がりになっている。（中田和志）



作品内容

JR東日本の全面協力の元、山手線の運転を完全に再現したシミュレーションゲームです。シミュレーションモードとしては「教習所」「運転試験」「通常業務」と段階的に山手線の運転を学ぶことができます。「通常業務」では実際の運転士さんと同じ環境で列車を走らせることができ、様々な出来事が運転中に発生します。もちろん山手線に関わる詳細なデータ類を閲覧することができ、通勤通学で利用している電車の新たな発見もできるかもしれません。

正直このソフトを購入して大変得をしたと感じております。
登場する車両（２０５系）は今年の春（２００５年４月）に各路線（京葉線など）に転属してしまいましたが、買って損の無いソフトだと自負します。
■車両■
２０５系の量産車です、基本的に性能は初期車（窓枠が田）と同じだと思いますが、鉄道模型だとＫＡＴＯから基本・増結セットで発売されております。
今だと鶴見・仙石・京葉・武蔵野・南部線に改造等されて転属しましたが。
■操作■
初心者の方にとっては慣れるまでが大変ですが、今までの「電車でＧＯ！」シリーズと違いこちらは実写の画像を使っており、東京神田の「交通博物館」に展示されている山手線２０５系のシュミレーター以上の物となっており、ＡＴＣによる常用ブレーキや車内信号の変化、その他にもＪＲ東日本首都圏内だけの「ＡＴＯＳ」（東京圏運行管理システム）を使用した各種イベント（延発・急病人発生・公衆立ち入り・防護無線発報など）があり、単純に１時間少し運転していても飽きない作品です。
また首都東京の大動脈を支える人たちの苦労がわかる物です。
そしてＪＲ東日本独自の各駅オリジナルの発車メロディーが入っているのでそれも堪能できる作品となっております。

TrainSimulatorシリーズといえば、鉄道オタクで有名なフュージョンバン
ド カシオペアの向谷 実氏。今回の「THE 山手線 ~Train Simulator
Real」ももちろん向谷氏のプロデュース。

発射ベル収録の際に、駅員さんから「オタクか~、しょうがねぇなぁ」
と、発射ベルを最後(最後まで流れることはめったにない)まで流して

くれたというエピソードもオタク心をくすぐります。
