アメリカのバンドでありながらも、マイブラやオアシス等の優れたバンドを輩出したイギリスの名門レーベル、クリエイションと契約したバンドがこのVELVET CRUSH。
本作はそんな彼等のベストアルバムです。

一曲一曲を彩る美しく甘美なメロディは、このアルバムのタイトル通りの『永遠の輝き』を誇っており、クリエイションが目を付けたのも頷けるほどのハイクオリティの作品に仕上がっています。
特にギターの旋律とハーモニーは出色の出来です。

ギターポップファンのみならず、WEEZERやJERRYFISHが生み出す優れたメロディに反応してしまうリスナーには是非とも聴いて頂きたいです。

ギターポップ好きな私には自然と耳に入っていきました。

matthew sweetやweezerに通ずるもののあるUSギターポップバンドvelvet crushの全２２曲のベストアルバム。matthew sweetの前座として活動していただけあって音楽の雰囲気も彼に非常に近い物を感じます。ただバンドとして活動しているだけあって、少しだけ攻撃的なギタープレイが曲に元気を与えていると思う。タイトルtimeless melodiesには青春期を彩る甘く切ない音楽として、いつまでも色褪せずに聴かれ続けたい、というバンドの願いがあるような気がする。
