エドガイと比較して本作を貶しているレビューがあるが、あんな本気だかギャグなのか分からないようなバンドより１００倍凄いバンドである。全曲が非常に質の高い、優れたアルバムである。

何も知らずに聴けばアメリカのグループであることに気が付かないだろう。Voのロイ・カーンはノルウェー出身だが・・・。本作「カーマ」は実に充実した内容である。クラシカルなSE 「Regalis」に引き続き疾走チューン「Forever」これは名曲！ヘヴィーな「Wings Of Despair」「The Spell」そしてロイ・カーンの真骨頂を発揮したバラード「Don't You Cry」で泣かせてくれる。タイトルトラック「Karma」は輪廻転生を歌ったもので大仰且つめまぐるしい展開を持つ名曲。ミディアムテンポの「The Shine On You」、ダークな「Temples Of Gold」経てKamelotらしい「Across The Highlands」

そして、本編最後を飾る組曲「Elizabeth」、あのエリザベス・バソリーを題材にしたものである。曲が進むにつれ狂気と化していく様は圧巻だ。国内盤である本作にはボーナストラックとしてスピードチューン「Future King」が収められている。
本作を名盤と言わずしてなにを名盤と言うのだろうか？と感じた。

これはメタルとかのジャンルを超越して芸術の域に達してますね!感動しました。もともとメロディックスピードメタルを求めてこのバンドを知ったのですがメロディックというかシンフォニックですね。ラプソディーのようなバンドが好きな人はかなりハマると思います!特にアルバムタイトルにもなっているKARMAを聴いた時はあまりの美しさに感動してしまい、何度もリピートして聴いてしまい、なかなか次の曲にいけなかったです。ジャンル問わずに誰にでも聴いて欲しい名作です!
