１曲目から青木＆梶原氏によるBass&Guiterソロ・バトルの炸裂するファンキーな”Parallelogram”でスタート3曲目の”K2”は、角松敏生による共同プロデュースで,いかにもカリフォルニア・フュージョンって感じの乗りのいいサウンドで、フュージョンファンのみならずとも、晴天のドライブにおすすめ！3，8，10曲目が角松敏生プロデュース曲で、１０曲目の"I Can Give You My Love"といえば、なんか聴いたことのある曲だと思いきや、角松敏生のライブ・アレンジ・スタイルの "I Can Give You My Love"そのままで始まるイントロ！そして、歌物の曲のフュージョン・アレンジで角松敏生ファンとしては、とても懐かしくもあり、新鮮でした。PS.DVD盤 WHAT IS FUSIONとあわせて観れば本田雅人の素顔も解る。ファン必見！

本田雅人？
もしかして、角松のスペシャルなコンサートにサックスを吹いていたあの切れ味鋭いサックスプレイヤーのこと？！
そう、そんな本田雅人氏の角松との共同プロデュース・アルバムですから、すっごい期待して聞いてしまいました。
率直な感想は、どの曲も軽快、爽快、そして切れがある！

こういうアルバムって、良い曲はあってもパッとしない曲も結構あるもんだけど、このアルバムはどれも主役になれるような曲ばかりで、聞いているとそれぞれでドラマが描けてしまう。そのせいか、１曲目の「Parallelogram」がテレ朝の朝の番組で使われているのを始めとして、他の曲もいろいろな番組のBGMとして聞こえてくる今日この頃。

恐るべし！本田雅人！

だてに、スクエアで苦労はしてきてはいないぞ。ただ、ひとつ残念なのは１０曲目の「I Can Give You My Love」。これは角松の歌入りの曲のカバーだけど、この曲の命である出だしの部分の音の厚みがないことと、けだるいサックスはちょっと似合わないと感じてしまった。ガガッーと来るような直線的に格好良く吹いたのを聞きたかった~！！

でも、それを差し引いても、期待の２００％を満たす１枚。感動したっ！

ダンディーで男前な本田雅人。天は二物を与えた。もう聞くだけでホンダワールドに引き込まれてしまう。そのサックステクは一流だ！

6曲目の「Techno Mambo」いや~これにはマイッた。

トロンボーンやバリトン、フルートまでこなす万能ぶり！しかもこの曲が一番好き！ダンディー角松さんの曲もうまくアレンジされてて、より洗練されたフュージョンという感じだ。今風のフュージョンだから若年層でも絶対受け入れられるはず！
