当時あんまり評判の良くなかった再結成ライブ盤。
でもこれはかなり良いですよ。
ヴェルヴェッツ＝退廃、みたいに思っている人には物足りないかも
知れませんが、『ニューヨーク』以後のルー・リードも評価している人
にとっては文句なしに買いの作品です。
再結成を待ちわびた温かい雰囲気の客の中で、心底楽しんで演奏している

4人の姿にこちらも嬉しくなってしまうような、そんなライブです。
選曲もベスト的で文句なし。代表曲で抜けているのは「Sister Ray」くら
いでしょうか。モーの歌う「Afterhours」「I'm sticking with you」の
2曲は客の盛り上がりもすごくて感動的です。

ブックレットには「I'll be your mirror」1曲だけ歌詞が載っています。

励まし勇気付けてくれるようなこの歌詞が、このライブの内容と見事に
重なっているように思います。
色んな意味で経験を重ねて大人になったヴェルヴェッツの姿が素敵な作品。

ヴェルベッツの再結成ライブ。この作品の発表後、アメリカツアーにいくはずだったが、予想通り空中分解しました。ジャケットセンスは最悪です（確かルーの元妻シルビアの作品。もう少し何とかならんか、この人。）。彼らのファンにはもちろん聴き所が多いです。ジョンが脱退後の曲を演奏していますし、ニコのパートを歌っていたり、ルーの曲付のメンバー紹介、現役を離れていたスタールのギター、マイナーな曲の演奏、１曲のみの新曲（なかなかの名作です）等、非常に興味深いです。ちょっと違和感を感じるのは観客の歓声。確かに、待ちに待たれていた再結成ですし、特に人気のあるヨーロッパでの演奏ですから盛り上がるのはわかるのですが、彼らの現役時代の不遇とメジャーとはいえない曲調からいくと、騒ぎすぎが耳につき、なんかＭＴＶアンプラグドを聴いているようでちょっと興醒めします。もう少し歓声をオフにミックスしていてくれたら・・。

当時のライブのいいとこ取り。
音質、演奏とも（VUライブにしては）いいです。
ちょっと前までは、VUライブはこれかmax's kanxas city、あるいは
音質ボロボロのBoot盤しかなかったので、これがお勧めでした。
しかしロバート・クイン先生の爆弾（Bootleg Series)が発売されて
しまった今、これは二番目になってしまいました。
でも2枚組みが１枚になってお得ですね。
