ドラムにコージーパウエルを迎え、新規一転を図ったEL&Pの80年代唯一のフルアルバム。70年代末期のEL&Pに感じられた音楽性の煮詰まりは無く、明るく、ハツラツとしたイメージの好アルバム。あまり評価されていない作品のようだが、方向性も違う全盛期の傑作と同列に比較しては気の毒というものだ。なかなかいいですよ。

ドラマーが、カールパーマーからコージーパウエルに代わっての第一作目で、最終作。この後カールパーマーが復帰して現在に至る訳ですが、正反対の２人のドラマーに対して好き嫌いが分かれるところと思います。しかしこのアルバムで聞けるダイナミズム、圧倒的な音圧はコージーパウエルでしか成し得なかった偉業と思います。ポップさと複雑な展開がとても有効に生かされているし、コージーパウエルのドラムソロともいえるtrack8:mars~は圧巻！

オープニングのThe Scoreのイントロから圧倒されます。仰々しいアレンジ
とコージーの迫力あるドラムプレイは以外に合います。GX-1とMidi技術を
合わせ70年台には実現できなかった重厚なキーボードサウンドが堪能でき
ます。
輸入盤ではボーナストラックが2曲追加されてます。The Loco-Motionは
キースの天才的としかいえないアレンジで演奏されています。Vacant

Possessionはグレグのヴォーカルを前面に出した壮大な曲です。グレグ
のヴォーカルが良かったのはこのころまでですね。値段も安く、名曲
2曲も追加されてる輸入盤をお薦めします。
