オルメの作品の中でもドラマ性は一番の傑作です。しかしながら「壮大なるキーボード・ロック」というような表現はやや的を外しています。
異教的な神秘と普遍的な古典悲劇の味わいをもつきわめて個性的な内容といえるでしょう。

オープニングこそせいいっぱいＥＬ＆Ｐ風を真似るスリリングなキーボード・サウンドを見せますがやはり最大の魅力は人生の悲哀をたおやかな表情で伝える「歌」にあります。

イタリアン・ロック屈指のトータル・アルバム。 スリリングなキーボード主体の演奏とたおやかな歌がバランスしたロマンチックな作品です。 特に神秘的なピアノと呪文のようなヴォーカルは明るいイタリアというイメージを超えたヨーロッパ特有の翳りのようなものが感じられます。

アナログ・シンセの音はやや古びているかもしれませんが、描かれている内容は変わることのない愛の物語。 世界進出のためピーター・ハミル訳詩による英語盤も発表されましたが、やはり原語のやわらかな響きが味わい深いです。

イタリアを代表するプログレバンドLE ORMEの73年作。代表作、最高傑作とも言われる名盤。キーボードトリオだが、EL&Pのようなすさまじいテクニックで魅せるわけではなく、イタリア独特の美的感覚にあふれた旋律・空気感で魅了する作品。シンフォニック、クラシカルなキーボードを中心にドラマチックに展開、寂しげで物憂げな歌声が浮遊、神秘的で気品の漂う組曲形式のアルバム。
「信じられないまま」は不安げな旋律がゆっくりと勇ましく高揚していく。カッコイイ導入部。穏やかながら暗いロマンを漂わす歌をはさみ、ドラムの目立つ即興演奏へと移っていく。「フェローナ」はアコギ中心、素朴なフォーク調。「世界を守る者の孤独」では水のように流れキラキラ光るピアノを背景に美しい歌声、思わずうっとりしてしまう。「バランス」はクラシカルなキーボードがサスペンス調に迫る。ピアノがスリリングに飛び込んでくる部分はかなりカッコイイ。緊迫した演奏が穏やかで雄大な表情へ移り変わる部分は非常に鮮やかで感動的。「ソローナ」は陰鬱で悲しげな歌声が胸をしめつける。「待ち続ける」は前曲から陰鬱なムードを引き継ぎつつ、不気味にねじれ出す。暗いが最後には不思議な高揚を見せる歌メロがやみつきに。「朝の肖像」はミステリアスな雰囲気から始まるが、爽やかなボーカルを契機にどこまでも広がる大平原のような雄大な旋律で盛り上がる。最後の気品に満ちたピアノがとても素敵。「時間を除いて」はアコギを基盤にボーカルとキーボードが交互に行き交う。中盤のシンフォニックな高まりがとても綺麗で印象的。最後に六曲目「待ち続ける」のテーマが復活。「無へ帰る」はキーボードがヒステリックに揺らぐインスト。熱く高揚し、壮大なエンディングを迎える。
