   ポケットモンスター（以下、ポケモン）と一緒に冒険をする大人気RPGシリーズの1つ。捕まえたポケモンを戦わせながら育て、最終的に四天王を倒し、150匹のポケモン図鑑を完成させるのが目的のゲーム。同じポケモンでも、育て方によって強さや特長が変わってくるのでおもしろい。別売の通信ケーブルを使えば、他の人とポケモンの交換や対戦をして遊ぶこともできるようになっている。発売当初は一部の店舗でしか購入できない限定品だったが、『銀』の発売記念として一般小売店での販売も開始された。

   ゲームの内容やストーリーは『緑』と同じだが、登場するポケモンの種類が若干違っており、アーボ、キュウコンなどが入手できない。また、戦闘画面やポケモン図鑑のテキスト、マップの一部にも手が加わっている。敵を倒す以外に、集めたり、育てたり、交換したりという楽しみが満載で、大人も子どもも遊べるゲームだ。（秋月昭彦）

世に出て以来、子供達に絶大な人気を未だに保ち続けているゲームの第1作目です。
基本的な流れとしてはモンスターを捕まえて育てながら、図鑑を完成させるor大会でのチャンピオンを目指すと言う事なんですが、とにかく惹きつける何かがあります。
発売当時ゲームボーイは次世代機（プレステやセガサターン等）の波に飲まれ消えていく寸前だったのですがこのソフトだけで見事に持ち直しました。
ここまで人気が出た要因は色々あると思うのですが通信ケーブルを使用して友達同士モンスターの交換や対戦が出来るというのが一番大きいのだと思います。
ゲームボーイの特徴、長所を生かせた作品それはポケモンを置いて他に見当たらないと思いますね。
アドバンスでリメイクが出ていますがどうせなら原点の作品を当時のままプレイされるのはどうでしょうか？
グラフィックや音色がチープでも何か惹きつけられるものがあるはずです。
ちなみに1作目は赤、緑、青、黄（ピカチュウ）とありますが一部の出てくるモンスターが違うだけで基本的にゲーム内容に大きな違いはありません。

あー懐かしいな。
確か、この「青」は当時ローソンで予約限定発売とかで、どうしても欲しくて、小遣い集めて買いに行ったよ。

内容は赤や緑と変わらないけど、ポケモンの出現率とかが違うらしい。
そういえば、私はどのポケモンもレベル上げれば進化すると思っていて、かもねぎを一生懸命育てていた記憶がある・・・ｗ

ペット？を戦わせるという、ある意味非道なファイトであるにも関わらず、ほのぼのしている世界観が好きでした。
ストーリーも飽きさせないし、GBでよくこんなに凝ったゲームがつくれたなあ。

このソフトは，あの「ポケモン」の第二弾。
本来は，月刊コロコロコミックでの限定商品だった。

第一弾とも言うべき，「赤」「緑」とは，ポケモンたちの図鑑「ポケモン図鑑」解説，そしてグラフィックが作り直されている。

「赤」「緑」を極めつくした人は，新しいポケモンの世界にまた取り付かれるであろう。

もちろん，はじめて「ポケモン」を遊ぶ人も楽しめる。

シナリオこそ同じだが，「赤」「緑」とはちがうポケモンたちに出会える一品。
