PS2が発売して約7年。PS2はメモリーカードが必須。発売当時から8MBですが、PS2ソフトの記憶容量がKBの物も多いので、妥当な価格だと思います。普通は1つあれば十分です。
様々なメモリーカードがでていますが、高級感では一番だと思います。その分価格は高めですが。
私も5年間使っていますが、一度もデータが消えたことがありません。データが消えそうな原因としては、
他社製のメモリーカードによくついているケースが付属していないため、ほこりや湿気、静電気に注意する。この種類のメモリーカードは静電気に弱いそうです。
PS2ソフトの中には、メモリーカード内のデータを破壊するソフトが存在する。それは調べていただければ分かりますので、そのソフトに注意する。
ちなみに、PSのソフトのセーブデータをPS2のメモリーカードに書き込みすることはできないが、PSのセーブデータをPSのメモリーカードを経由してPS2のメモリーカードにコピーすることは可能。PSのメモリーデータはとても小さいので、PS2のメモリーカードに何百ものデータの保存ができる。PSのメモリーカードを複数持ってい る人は、全てPS2のメモリーカードにコピーしておき、読み込むときだけPSのメモリーカードを使用すればよいので、かさばらずにすっきりする。
それと、PS2にはコピー禁止データというデータが存在している。これは、PS3のメモリーカードアダプターではコピー可能。

現在のところPlayStation 2（以後PS2）のゲームデータを保存できるのは、PS2専用メモリーカード(8MB)とPS2用ハードディスクだけである。8MBの大容量は、ゲームデータを保存するには十分であるが、旧プレイステーション（以後PS）のゲームをプレイ中は、PS2専用メモリーカードからではセーブやロードができないのが欠点だ。ただし、PSのメモリーカードからPS2専用メモリーページにはデータの移動ができるので、単純にデータを保存するだけなら問題ない。

初代PS2付属のメモカ不良（セーブデータが高確率で消える）を経験。まさかメモリーカードの不良とは・・・。
交換品をかれこれ８年、ずっと1枚で使っていますが、すこぶる快調なので結構丈夫なのではないかと。

みんGOLやグランツーリスモが容量食いで泣かされました。要らないセーブデータは思い切って消して、今のところ容量ギリギリのところで耐えてます。
もう1枚ほしいところですが、3,000円だと何かもったいなくて、何か買う気がしないんですよね。
1枚1,000〜1,500円にしてほしいところです。それか、メモリースティックが突っ込めるアダプター、出してくれないかな。
