2001年10月の来日公演は期待を上まわる内容だった。マイケル抜きのため、初期のヒット曲を中心に構成された力強い演奏は、バンド全盛期にも劣らぬもの。特にトム、パット、キースの元気な姿には、感涙してしまいました。そこでこの来日記念盤となるグレイテスト・ヒッツ。ドゥービーズのベスト盤は数多く出ているけど、30年以上のキャリアをレーベルの枠を越えて収録し、ヒット曲もほぼ全曲網羅している点で、現時点でもっともバランスのとれた内容になっている。これぞ、アメリカン・ロックの真髄。一家に1枚かな。 (茅場礼) --- 2001年12月号

キャリアの長いバンドだけに、ベスト盤は既に何枚か出ている彼らですが、初期のトム・ジョンストン中心時代の曲（１~７＆９）、後期のマイケル・マクドナルド中心時期の曲（１０~１２、１４／１５／１８）そして全キャリアを通じて実はバンドの核であったと言っても良いだろうパットシモンズの代表曲（８／１３／１６）、更には故コーネリアス・バンプスの歌う１７、再結成後のヒットチューン１９／２０と、まさにドゥービーズのおいしいとこ満載。入門用にはもちろん、長年のファンが佳曲一気に楽しむのにももってこいの内容では？現時点でのベストベストでしょう。

車のＣＭで最近まで「ホワット・ア・フール・ビリーブ」が使われたと思ったら、今度は「リッスン・トゥ・ザ・ミュージック」が。
最近はいろいろなところでドゥービーの曲を耳にできるので、ここらでオリジナル版をと思った方にとっては、このＣＤは最適です。

ジョンストンのジャージーなシャウトも、マクドナルドのＡＯＲ的なポップも、いずれも味わえます。
メンバーの入れ替わりも激しかったバンドですので、その変遷を綴ったブックレットもついているので、一気にドゥービーの歴史の勉強もできます。

いやぁ~、某ギターのゲームをやっていて『LONG TRAIN RUNNIN'』が聴きたくてたまらなくなってこのアルバムを買いました♪
DISCOでもミックスを加えられて長い間使われていたこの曲、もう30年以上前の曲なんですよね…
いまだに全然色褪せない素晴らしい曲です。
元々メタル畑育ちの僕がこういったサウンドの曲を聴く事になろうとは想像もしていませんでしたが、ベストアルバムという事もあり、聴けば聴く程にドゥービーズの魅力にハマっていってます♪
最高のバンドです！！
