未公開フィルムが加わったコッポラ監督の『地獄の黙示録』完全版の公開に先立って,サントラも改訂版がリリース。新曲2曲が追加され,全曲デジタル・リマスタリングがなされている。


内容 (「CDジャーナル・レビュー」より)

79年の問題作『地獄の黙示録』が53分もの未公開シーンを追加し、特別完全版として甦った。53分を追加したおかげで分かりやすく、テンポも良くなったという。併せて3曲を追加してリマスタリングしたサントラも発売された。冨田勲にインスパイアされたというシンセの音が、暗く重いこの戦争映画とミス・マッチでおもしろい。聴きものは故カーマイン・コッポラの遺稿から発見されたという新曲「愛のテーマ」。制作当時に不完全ながら書かれていたものを、フランシスが完成させた。荘厳な美しさを持つ佳曲だ。 (竹之内円) --- 2001年12月号

初公開当時の現在は廃盤になっているサントラと比べ
デジタルリマスタリングを施されているので
音が非常にクリア！！
しかも、今回はプランテーションのシーンの
音楽も追加されています。
しかし、初公開版のサントラは２枚組みでボリュームがあり
ワルキューレの騎行には戦闘シーンの音が
そのまま入っており臨場感が楽しめました。
その点がなくなってしまっていて残念・・・
そのため４点です。
ですが、純粋にサントラを聞きたい方にはお勧めですよ！！
